Martha- Martha had horses as a child. She first
learned how to ride by the seat of her pants having many interesting riding
experiences. Later on in life she took formal riding lessons from Twin
Gate Farm. She has also been involved in 4-H for the last 10 years.
Martha is one of the instructors here at our barn. She starts all of the
young riders and the new riders, giving them a foundation of horse
knowledge to grow on. Martha prefers the Miniature Horses to any other
breed. Her patience and organization are a virtue to our farm.
Anyone who rides or visits here may become accustomed to Martha's obsession with
sweeping the barn aisle.
Jessica- Jessica has had horse fever
since she was a small child. She has been taking lessons since the age of
seven where she began on Welsh ponies at Twin Gate Farm. Jessica was
actively involved in 4-H, Pony club, and showing. She trained
her first Welsh pony at the age of 13 and began teaching riding lessons at the
age of 14. By the time she was 16, she was showing 2nd level
dressage and schooling above 4th level. Jessica is a riding
instructor here at YRHA. She teaches students of all levels both on and
off the property. She emphasizes gaining a confident riding style
influenced by hunt seat and dressage. Jessica enjoys working with all of
the horses here. Jessica is commonly seen with her nose in a horse book
due to an obsession to constantly gain knowledge on horsemanship.
Ashlyn- Ashlyn is Jessica's daughter and is 12 years old.
She helps to train the ponies to behave for the lessons and also starts them
under saddle. She is a horse lover in all aspects. She loves to make
friends with the new students at YRHA. She is a good rider and loves her
horse, Jack. She is most often seen with Sadie, Simon, or Jack.
